The Ceremony of movement; Dance-Ceremonies The Nightdance: The Nightance is a dance ceremony to embrace the night and to touch fire. In this ceremony, the people are dancing free to the drumbeat and to different kinds of music. At one point, Markus is introducing Fire to the participants so they can touch it themselves, if they want to, and dance with it. When it is possible, there are sweatlodges before and after the dance. The Prayer dance The Prayer dance is a 4 day Ceremony with daylong dancing, sweatlodges and fasting. In this dance, the dancers are getting pierced like the dancers in the sundance of the native american tradition. One part of the dance is connected to the Sundance Tradition and one Part of the dance is connected to the modern forms of wild dancing. In the center of the danceground there is a tree which is exposing to the dancers what it is about to give yourself away. The altar and the never stopping fire are keeping the connection to the bigger world and are reflecting our real nature. It is possible to participate this ceremonie as a dancer or as a “participant” around the danceground. Dancers are committing to dance for 4 days a year, during 4 years and it includes to have done or to do a visionquest ceremony in preparation to the dance. | |
